About the event
Step back in time with the MUN Outdoor Adventure Society as we trek the iconic Cobblers Path. This 5km trail offers more than just a hike; it's a journey through Newfoundland's rich history and stunning natural beauty. From the rugged cliffs of Torbay Point to the remnants of wartime history at Red Cliff, every step tells a story.
About This Path
Cobblers Path is famed for its breathtaking coastal views and historical intrigue. You'll traverse paths that lead to the remains of a Second World War battery and the ruins of a Cold War tracking station at the Pine Tree Line Radar site. Although weathered by time, these sites offer a fascinating glimpse into the past. The trail is well-maintained with boardwalks over wet areas, ensuring a comfortable hike.
The trail’s moderate difficulty makes it suitable for most hikers, and you’ll want to wear trail-rated footwear to navigate the varied terrain, which includes brooks, cliffs, and rocky outcrops.
